Bali, 25 August 2023 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has received a prestigious award in recognition of its outstanding commitment to environmental conservation. Wisma BCA Foresta was named the Winner of the ASEAN Energy Awards 2023 for the Energy Efficient Building category, specifically within the New and Existing Building subcategory. The award ceremony took place at the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2023, coinciding with the 41st ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) and the 3rd ASEAN International Conference on Energy and Environment (AICEE).

The ASEAN Energy Awards was presented by Raphael Lotilla, Secretary of the Department of Energy of the Philippines. The award acknowledgesWisma BCA Foresta for its energy-efficient capabilities, in line with international sustainability standards. The ASEAN Energy Awards are aimed to acknowledge and commend industry participants for their contributions to the advancement of the energy sector. Despite being in operation for less than three years, the Wisma BCA Foresta has successfully captured public interest, primarily due to its effective energy utilization and architectural design that prioritizes the conservation of the surrounding environment.

Wisma BCA Foresta commenced operations in October 2020, covering an area of 45,250 m² (GLA). The building's operation symbolizes BCA's commitment to embracing the future of sustainable banking and business.

In-line with the spirit of transitioning to clean and renewable energy, this green building was specifically designed to minimize energy consumption by incorporating several features, such as Building Automation System, Chiller Plant Management System, as well as building envelope design and materials that help to maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels. The building also utilizes reverse osmosis drinking water, recycled water, and rainwater harvesting. Moreover, numerous solar panels are also installed to reduce electricity consumption from fossil fuels, making it an all-encompassing green structure. These technologies are managed by the Energy Management Team from BCA's Logistics and Building Division, resulting in an energy-efficient building.

Moreover, Wisma BCA Foresta also provides a range of facilities accessible to the public, such as a Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station for those who need to charge their electric vehicles Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the building has garnered various recognitions from different parties since its opening two years ago.

In alignment with Wisma BCA Foresta's accomplishments, BCA's credit allocation to sustainable sectors also continues to grow. As of June 2023, sustainable sector credit has increased by 6.9% YoY to reach Rp181.2 trillion. This amount contributed around 24.3% to BCA's total financing portfolio.
